08.07.2024 Emoji locomotive with new Länderbahn ambassadors in operation between Munich and Regensburg
Full speed ahead: With 86 tons and 9,000 hp into a new professional future
Commuters waiting for the alex to Munich at 05:46 this morning must have been amazed when the train pulled into Regensburg station. Since today, four giant emojis on each side of the black Taurus class 182 electric locomotive have been prominently advertising a career with Länderbahn, the railroad company which, in addition to the alex between Munich and Prague, also operates the oberpfalzbahn and waldbahn in Bavaria and the vogtlandbahn and trilex in Saxony. As of today, the four emojis are on the road as the new Länderbahn ambassadors. They are part of the large-scale, Bavaria-wide "Superjobs" advertising campaign by Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG), which was created together with Länderbahn and other Bavarian railroad companies.
"With the emoji locomotive, we want to show everyone that the rail industry is anything but dusty. On the contrary, it is an ultra-modern industry of the future. Our company offers attractive and future-proof jobs in driving services, in the company's own workshops and also in administration. We also offer good prospects for those who want to change careers, for example. With up to 42 days of annual leave, a gradual reduction in working hours to up to 35 hours per week and a family working environment, Länderbahn offers very employee-friendly conditions that are unparalleled in Germany," explains Eugen Rubinstein, Managing Director of Länderbahn.
Länderbahn regularly offers qualifications as a train driver (9 months) or train attendant (6 months) for people who decide to start a new career. Participants receive an attractive salary even during their training. Eugen Rubinstein emphasizes: "New employees join us from a wide variety of backgrounds and enrich the entire Länderbahn family with their life experience. They contribute to great diversity within the company and are crucial to our success." Länderbahn is a private railroad company and is part of the NETINERA Group. The company currently employs over 1,000 people. It also operates its own workshops in Neumark, Schwandorf, Viechtach and Zwiesel under the name "regentalwerke". The five Länderbahn brands alex, oberpfalzbahn, waldbahn, vogtlandbahn and trilex operate around 16 million train kilometers per year. From December 2026, the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland network will add a further 6 million train kilometers and over 300 employees to the Länderbahn family.
