Schwandorf
History, nature and culture in the heart of the Upper Palatinate
There is so much to experience in the large district town of Schwandorf! A well-known highlight is the impressive rock cellar labyrinth. But the town's 1000-year history has also left many traces that invite you to take a city tour. And last but not least, Schwandorf is the center of the Upper Palatinate Lake District.
From one pub to the next
When the Schwandorf market square turns into an event mile, it's time again for the pub festival. On Saturday, November 16, there will be dancing, partying and laughing to live music from various bands and musical genres in different locations in the city center.
Rock cellar
Deep below the earth's surface is a unique attraction: Bavaria's largest rock cellar labyrinth. Originally built as a beer storage cellar, the underground rooms were later used as refrigerators and air raid shelters. Tip: If you stay overnight, you should definitely attend a concert in the adjoining Kulturkeller!
Cafe Lawendls
The name is inspired by the lavender plant, which is known for its many uses in medicine and cooking. Variety is the focus at Lawendls! The dishes are freshly and deliciously prepared with regional products. A play corner, retreat rooms and health courses make the café a colorful feel-good place.
