City tours Regensburg highlights

Regensburg

A visit to Italy’s northernmost city

The winding city centre, the many charming cafés and the colourful houses exude Italian flair in the heart of Bavaria, rightly earning Regensburg the title of “Italy’s northernmost city”. The cathedral city is also known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Apart from the cathedral, the Stone Bridge is the city’s main landmark. But the capital of the Upper Palatinate has so much more to offer.

Cinema, light and Vivaldi

At the Transit Film Festival from November 6 to 13, extraordinary films from all over the world will once again be shown in Regensburg's old town cinemas. Afterwards, you often even have the opportunity to talk to the filmmakers. This leads to exciting discussions on social issues.

But it's not just the cinema screen that flickers - the Minorite Church also lights up with the “Enlightment” illumination. Here, the Zurich artists' collective Projektil presents an audiovisual metamorphosis of Vivaldi's “Four Seasons” with its immersive light show.

Cô Hà

A culinary getaway to Southeast Asia: authentic Vietnamese cuisine with fresh ingredients and exotic flavors awaits you at Cô Hà Restaurant in Regensburg. Whether traditional pho or crispy summer rolls - all taste buds get their money's worth here. The dishes take you on a journey into the diversity of Vietnamese food culture and make every visit special.

Avenue of trees on the banks of the Danube

Not far from the Stone Bridge in Regensburg, the avenue path meanders along the “Oberer Wöhrd” - a hidden row of trees made up of gnarled poplars. The high treetops create a special atmosphere at any time of year. An ideal retreat for anyone looking for a piece of natural idyll close to the old town.
