Landshut

On a tour of discovery in the capital of Lower Bavaria

Landshut's enchanting old town, with its colorful town houses, historical monuments and Mediterranean flair, is worth a visit! Landshut is also widely known for the "Landshut Wedding", which is celebrated here every four years. Rich history is combined here with a lively present - and the typical Bavarian attitude to life!

From board games to breakdancing

If you fancy a classic games afternoon, the Landshut Games Days are the place to be! From November 20 to 24, over 2,000 games await young and old fans of card, board and strategy games at the Alte Kaserne. A long game night with “Werewolf” and “Pen & Paper” is of course a must.

Those who prefer a new interpretation of the circus can go to Breakin' Circus in the Sparkassen-Arena on November 27. This is where circus meets urban hip-hop culture and breaking: look forward to spectacular dance, breathtaking artistry and humorous entertainment.

Zauberraum

Get up close to the magic in the Magic Room: Sebastian Nicolas enchants the audience with his spectacular tricks and great attention to detail in his “Moments of Mysteries” show. There is room for just 32 guests in the magic theater - so you can keep a close eye on the magician. Maybe you will find out how the trick works after all.

Restaurant Soyo

Edamame, CoCo Duck, Matchacake and much more - Soyo is the place to go if you want to try a wide range of Asian cuisine. Here you will find numerous dishes from modern Asian cuisine with South American influences. And the best thing is that the dishes are served on small tapas-sized plates. Perfect for sharing and enjoying.

Carossahöhe

The Carossahöhe is ideal for sensational sunset photos in the fall. Let your legs dangle over the wall and enjoy the view of Landshut: Trausnitz Castle on the left, the towers of St. Martin and St. Jodok on the right, while the city nestles between the mountain and the Isar. Getting there requires some effort, as the Carossahöhe is best reached on foot or by bike.

St. Martin's Church

St. Martin's Church impresses with its 130.1 meter high tower, the highest brick tower in the world and the highest church tower in Bavaria. It took 115 years to complete the church - an impressive testimony to the art of building. It is well worth a visit.

KOENIGmuseum

Fritz Koenig (1924-2017) from Landshut is considered one of the outstanding sculptors of the 20th century. The underground KOENIGmuseum in the Hofberg presents the most extensive collection of his sculptural works. You can delve even deeper in guided tours and workshops.

Trausnitz Castle

The imposing Trausnitz Castle, once the residence of the Bavarian dukes from the House of Wittelsbach, towers steeply above the old town. After a tour through medieval halls, paneled parlors and ornate cabinets, the castle tavern invites you to linger.

Landshuter Höhenwanderweg

The trail starts at the Hofgarten, near the city center, and leads over the Hofberg. Along the way, several viewpoints offer spectacular panoramas - from the old town to the Isar and the Alps on a clear day. Particularly beautiful in autumn, when the leaves change color and the landscape is bathed in a sea of color.

Hofgarten mit Tiergehege

The Hofgarten and Herzoggarten with its eight-kilometer network of paths is a great destination for a family outing. One of the many highlights is the animal enclosure, where deer, nandus, hares, ducks, goats, rabbits etc. frolic. Visiting the enclosure is free of charge.
