Information on UEFA EURO 2024
The UEFA-EURO 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
Due to the European Football Championship in Munich, among other places, and the additional events around the stadiums during this period, a particularly high volume of travelers is expected in the summer months.
Therefore, in the period from June 1 up to and including September 1, 2024, cross-border long-distance trains to/from Germany via selected border crossings are subject to reservation. These will be indicated in the timetable with an “R”, and travelers will automatically receive a reservation free of charge when booking a ticket for a train requiring a reservation. This has been the case since the start of advance sales in December 2023.
Trains operated by our alex, which runs as a long-distance train in the Czech Republic, are not affected by the reservation requirement.
Where and when are tickets also valid as travel tickets?
The admission tickets / accreditation tickets are valid for use of the following means of transport at the European Football Championship 2024: S-Bahn, U-Bahn, bus, tram and regional trains within the MVV area in zones M-12 for any number of journeys.
- Match tickets (UEFA Fan Pass):
Valid only on the respective match day from 06:00 on the day of the match until 18:00 on the following day (36 hours)

Where are FAN Fest EURO 2024 tickets also valid as travel tickets?
Tickets for the FAN FEST EURO 2024 event at Theresienwiese on 12.06.2024 are valid for use of public transport on the day of the event (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, bus, tram, regional train) in zones M-6 for the outward and return journey to/from the Theresienwiese.
- Customers who purchased their tickets from Ticketmaster received a link with their order confirmation that they can use to book their public transport ticket directly.
- Customers who have ordered via CTS eventim or Münchenticket will receive a separate mailing with a link at the end of May / beginning of June and can then also book their free public transport ticket via this link.
- Unless otherwise stated, the travel authorization is valid until 06:00 a.m. on the following day.
- The tickets are valid in the printed period without validation and maximum travel times with any interruptions and changes in the M-6 zones of the MVV.
