Restrictions and replacement service on the line closure between Furth im Wald and Plzeň hl. n.

Due to maintenance work on the Furth im Wald – Plzeň route, there will be restrictions on train service for line RE 25 from April 1 to April 11, 2025. Certain train connections will be replaced by substitute bus transport (EV).

Please note:

• Travelers from Praha will often need to take an earlier train to Plzeň hl. n. to catch the replacement transport connections.
• In Plzeň hl. n., only limited connections will be available during the construction work, particularly towards Praha hl. n.
• On some days, certain trains will run as scheduled, while others will be replaced by buses.

Below you will find a detailed overview of the affected periods and route sections. Please consider these changes in your travel planning and use earlier connections if necessary to catch connecting trains. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please refer to the timetable tables for details.

April 1 to April 4, 2025 (daily from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM):

• Direction Munich: Trains between Plzeň hl. n. and Domažlice will be replaced by substitute bus transport (EV). Buses will depart earlier from Plzeň hl. n., requiring travelers from Praha to take an earlier train to Plzeň hl. n. to catch the replacement transport. There is only one connection in Plzeň hl. n. towards Domažlice.
• Direction Praha: Trains between Domažlice and Plzeň hl. n. will be replaced by substitute bus transport (EV). There will be no direct connection to trains to Praha hl. n. at Plzeň hl. n. Travelers will use the next available connections, such as trains on the Cheb – Praha line or regional trains (R-trains) on the Klatovy – Praha line.

April 7, 2025 (from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM):

• Direction Munich: Trains between Plzeň hl. n. and Domažlice will again be replaced by substitute bus transport (EV). Buses will depart earlier from Plzeň hl. n., requiring travelers from Praha to take an earlier train to Plzeň hl. n. to catch the replacement transport. There is still only one connection in Plzeň hl. n. towards Domažlice.
• Direction Praha: Substitute bus transport (EV) will also be implemented between Domažlice and Plzeň hl. n. Travelers will use regular trains on the Klatovy/Cheb – Praha lines (except train 363) to continue their journey towards Praha. Trains on the Munich – Praha line will run as scheduled from Plzeň hl. n. Train 363 will be replaced by substitute transport between Domažlice and Praha hl. n. Additionally, one train will run on the Plzeň – Praha hl. n. route without connection to trains from Munich. Train 362 will operate as usual.

April 8, 2025 (12:00 AM) to April 11, 2025 (3:00 PM):

• Direction Munich: Train service between Plzeň hl. n. and Furth im Wald will be entirely replaced by substitute bus transport (EV). Buses will again depart earlier from Plzeň hl. n., requiring travelers from Praha to take an earlier train to Plzeň hl. n. to catch the EV connection. There is only one connection in Plzeň hl. n. towards Domažlice.
• Direction Praha: Train service between Furth im Wald and Plzeň hl. n. will also be replaced by substitute bus transport (EV). Travelers will use regular trains on the Klatovy/Cheb – Praha lines (except train 363) to reach Praha. Trains on the Munich – Praha line will run as scheduled from Plzeň hl. n. Train 363 will be replaced by substitute transport between Domažlice and Praha hl. n. Additionally, one train will run on the Plzeň – Praha hl. n. route without connection to trains from Munich.
• April 11: Trains 354 and 359 will run as scheduled without restrictions.
